Jaipur : ‘Aadi Ujala’, a unit focusing on bringing about a change for differently abled people, showcased their products at the 17th Edition of Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF).
AADI (Action for Ability Development and Inclusion), a foundation which have been working with differently abled people for 45 years, have set up a unit called ‘Ujala’. Ujala majorly focuses on helping disabled people find employment, wherein they teach them skills to make various products for the unit.
At JLF, they are displaying products handmade by the members of Ujala, which include handbags, wrapping sheets, Jewellery boxes, bookmarks, impression diaries, cloth bags, utility boxes, mugs, and more.
It is to be noted that AADI runs community-based service delivery programs and innovative centre-based programs in Delhi-NCR. It has sensitised more than 20,000 people through workshops, trained 3500 teachers, special educators and therapists. By their efforts, more than 600 differently abled people have found employment opportunities AADI works to facilitate inclusion at home, community and the larger society.
